We offer events, workshops, research, executive coaching and immersive programmes.
Many of the programmes offered by Periscope have been tried, tested and evaluated through delivery across various organisations, formats and locations. Participants have included heads of schools, lecturers, nurses, hospitals & GPs, practice managers, prisons & probation, researchers and PhDs from all disciplines.

Immersive Programmes: For up to 20 participants
Immersive programmes take place over several weeks or months and allow participants to understand how to navigate the next steps and achieve outputs in line with their goals. They use practical tools and peer coaching to transform mindset, raise awareness of motivations, support networks and opportunities.
We manage all elements with participants, from attendance, communication of pre work, one to ones, certification, and evaluations. Feedback has been especially strong and completion rates following the first session average 92%.
A transformative career management programme to increase awareness of PhD transition challenges, reduce procrastination around thesis write up, support focus and motivation.
The workshop enables participants to:
- Understand transition trends, common experiences, and challenges
- Build relationships of support and accountability
- Lead on professional development and wellbeing needs
- Create a 6-month career strategy for efficient progress.

An extensive programme utilising a combination of workshops, case studies, group and individual coaching to enable participants to understand how to progress their careers within the unique environment of academia.
The workshop enables participants to:
- Understand the research system and challenges within academic career development
- Improve motivation, engagement, and clarify a sense of meaning in work
- Lead on professional development and wellbeing needs
- Create a 6-month career strategy for efficient progress.

Full and Half Day Events and Workshops: For up to 80 people
Our full and half day events are all in person providing an immersive experience that gives participants the opportunity to collaborate, showcase their work, network, and communicate with one another to form long-lasting connections and partnerships.
Each is supported by a graphical workbook or journal to guide participants though the structure of the day, consolidate learning, reflect, and journal next steps. We enjoy working together to codesign events to suit need, budget, and desired outcomes.
‘Lean’ and ‘six sigma’ are introduced as leadership approaches and complementary tools and frameworks are explored for their usefulness and flexibility in the workplace. Participants use their own ‘live’ case study to immediately practice learning. The result is the development of a project for quality improvement and an action plan for implementation.
The workshop enables participants to:- Understand and adopt a lean management as a leadership approach.
- Explore the potential of tools such as process mapping and force filed analysis.
- Develop a ‘live’ quality improvement project for implementation.

A collaborative approach to career planning increases awareness of options, transferable skills, and kick-starts career management.
- The workshop enables participants to:
- Identify and frame research skills for employment.
- Clarify motivations and career options.
- Apply career management tools and frameworks.
- Kickstart a career management journey
- Build relationships of support and accountability

Each event is centred around a research theme and structured so that researchers, clinicians, companies, and innovators present and respond to research expertise, processes for innovation, and current areas of professional and health priority.
The workshop enables participants to:
- Understand and engage with healthcare needs.
- Form new networks and strengthen current collaborations.
- Explore and navigate solutions to challenges across sectors.
- Develop and implement a shared understanding and vision.
- Develop actions to achieve accelerated progress.
- Follow-on coaching for researchers facilitates conversations that allow for progress and action.
